Yalda Night Celebration
The University of British Columbia Persian Club invites students and Iranians to get together and celebrate the longest night of the year.
UBC Persian club is proud to present Yalda night accompanied by eminent figures in the field of Iranian culture and arts. Your presence is crucial since it would be a support to help us keep our ancient culture alive.
The Ceremony is as follows:
- A brief talk about Yalda night and its significance in Iranian Culture
- Declaiming Hafez Poems
- Shahnameh Story-telling
- Persian Traditional/Folklore music performed by UBC Persian ensemble
- Serving of traditional dried fruit and pastry specific to Yalda night
The programs will be both in Farsi and English.
