Yalda Night Celebration 2013

UBC Persian club is proud to once again host Yalda Night Celebration on UBC campus.

This year, we are planning to celebrate a night full of art, literature, and performances at UBC. All of this would happen in a venue artfully decorated according to Yalda traditions. You will have the opportunity to socialize and mingle after the formal portion of the event, while drinking wine or enjoying pomegranate and watermelon!

Aurash Sade Play by Van.ac Theatre Group

Mohammad Rahmanian, Mahtab Nasirpour and their students at Van.ac Theatre Group are taking to stage their most recent work: “Aurash Sade” (written by Bahram Beyzaei) starting from Friday, July 12th until Sunday July 14th for three consecutive nights.


UBC Persian Club is proud to be the partner of Van.ac Theatre Group on this project and we would like to invite all our community members to join us in watching the “Aurash Sade” play.

Stories of the Diaspora; Art that brings a voice to newcomers

The purpose of this project is to raise awareness about newcomer experiences in Canada. Then participants will have a chance to create art in forms of painting, photography and poetry in partners or alone about a theme or an issue they have faced such as such as identity, debunking myths about newcomer youth, children and youth Rights under the Canadian Immigration and education System, and discrimination and racism.
