Ebtehaj

Poetry Night with Houshang Ebtehaj (Saayeh)

Having dedicated himself to his art for six decades, Sayeh (Amir Houshang Ebthaj) has shown great perseverance in writing unfettered poems. A renowned poet of conscience, his deceptively simple poems – loaded with sublime allegories, penetrating ironies, visual images, sober elegies, literary allusions and masterly juxtapositions – evoke powerful mental pictures. The wide spectrum of his poetic work ranges from classic rhymed lyrics (ghazals) to modern blank verse delving into the Iranian psyche.
For an unforgettable meditative experience of joy and beauty, come to Kay Meek Centre, 1700 Mathers Ave. West Vancouver, on September 25 for an evening of music and poetry with this iconic Persian poet.
Date: Sep 25
Time: 8:00pm – 10:30pm
Location: Kay Meek Centre
